Use
This test measures allergen-specific Immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels to seven common nut allergens—almond, Brazil nut, cashew nut, hazelnut/filbert, peanut, pecan nut, and walnut—assisting clinicians in evaluating sensitization and potential allergic responses. The quantitative IgE results aid in identifying specific nut allergens that may contribute to allergic presentations.
Special Instructions
Test is performed using Thermo Fisher ImmunoCAP® methodology. Turnaround time is typically 3–5 days from specimen pickup; additional time may be required for reflex or confirmatory testing. Refer to Labcorp's Allergy Test Menu for related specific‑IgE panels.
Limitations
Quantitative IgE levels indicate sensitization but do not alone confirm clinical allergy; results should be interpreted in the clinical context alongside patient history and may require confirmatory testing. Availability of individual component or reflex testing may affect turnaround time.
