Allergy Panel #18, Nut Mix Group
Also known as: ImmunoCAP®
Use
This panel tests for specific IgE antibodies to seven nuts commonly associated with allergies. Allergen‑specific serum IgE testing is comparable to skin testing and may be preferred in some clinical situations. However, a positive result indicates sensitization but does not confirm clinical allergy; many sensitized individuals remain asymptomatic. A definitive diagnosis should only be made by a qualified provider following thorough clinical evaluation.

Limitations
A positive test only indicates sensitization, not necessarily clinical allergy or symptom severity. Clinical correlation by a trained medical provider is required for diagnosis. The panel covers seven specific nut allergens; absence of sensitization on this panel does not rule out allergy to other allergens.
