MET Oncology FISH
Also known as: Adenocarcinoma, Non−Small-cell Lung Cancer
Use
Confirmation/identification of cancer-related alterations (for lung cancer).
Special Instructions
Utilize sterile technique and Labcorp transport kits when collecting specimens. Ensure proper collection to prevent causes for rejection such as broken or dirty slides, excessive cellular debris, stained slides, or decalcified bone cores.
Limitations
This FISH test will not detect molecular mutations or chromosomal alterations that are not targeted by the probes included in this profile. The test's accuracy is dependent on the presence of sufficient tumor cells in the specimen. Absence of tumor, inadequate specimen quantity, or fixation artifacts may lead to false-negative results.
