Detection of antibodies to Coccidioides antigens aids in identifying patients with coccidioidomycosis. Antibodies to the TP (IgM) antigen appear during the first week of infection and remain detectable for approximately 5 months, indicating recent, active infection. Antibodies to the F (IgG) antigen appear within a month of infection and remain detectable for up to a year thereafter.
