Special Instructions
This test is performed using the Thermo Fisher ImmunoCAP® system, which is designed to detect specific IgE antibodies with high precision. The specimen should be collected in either a red-top tube or gel-barrier tube and maintained at the appropriate storage conditions to ensure accurate results.
Limitations
This test is specific for peanut components and does not substitute a complete clinical evaluation for allergy diagnosis. It should not be the sole basis for diagnosing a peanut allergy or predicting anaphylaxis. Cross-reactivity with other allergens may occur, and a negative result does not rule out a peanut allergy if the patient has clinical symptoms suggestive of such. Results should be interpreted in the context of the patient’s overall clinical picture and history.
