Cyclin D1, SP4 by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: CYCSP4 IHC
Use
Diagnosis of mantle cell lymphoma in conjunction with morphology and immunohistochemical studies. This stain supports classification of low‐grade B‐cell lymphomas such as mantle cell lymphoma by detecting cyclin D1 overexpression due to t(11;14).
Special Instructions
This test is performed as a stain and return (technical) service only. Submit electronic request or use ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form (#32978) if electronic ordering not available. Use ARUP tissue transport kit (#47808) for sending blocks or slides; do not oven bake precut slides. Available via ARUP Connect™ or contact Client Services.
Limitations
Unacceptable conditions include depleted specimens or specimens with non‐representative tissue type. Slides or blocks must be in formalin‐fixed, paraffin embedded format; cells must be processed into cellblock. Slides must be positively charged, 3–5 μm, minimum two slides if sending slides. Protect from excessive heat. Store/transport at room temperature or refrigerated; ship cooled during summer. Blocks or slides stable indefinitely in ambient, refrigerated, or frozen. Interpretation must be contextual alongside morphology and other studies.
