Melanoma Antibody, HMB45 by Immunohistochemistry (DAB Detection)
Also known as: HMB 45 IHC
Use
This is a technical immunohistochemical stain (“stain and return”) for the melanoma marker HMB45. It is used to detect HMB45 expression in formalin‑fixed, paraffin‑embedded tissue specimens or cell blocks as part of histopathologic evaluation for melanoma.
Special Instructions
Submit via electronic request or using ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form #32978 if electronic ordering is not available. Transport slides or tissue block in ARUP tissue transport kit #47808, min of 2 slides; do not oven bake precut slides. Protect from excessive heat. Ship in cooled container during summer months.
Limitations
Unacceptable specimens include non‑representative tissue types or depleted specimens. Frozen specimens are unacceptable. The test is performed only as a technical service (stain and return) and provides no interpretive diagnosis by ARUP.
