FISH for RET rearrangement
Use
The FISH for RET rearrangement test is used to identify gene rearrangements involving the RET gene. These rearrangements are associated with certain types of cancers, such as thyroid cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. Detecting RET rearrangements can help guide targeted therapy decisions, as some cancer treatments specifically target these alterations.
Special Instructions
Ensure specimens are properly labeled and stored as per guidelines. Contact support for additional assistance if needed.
Limitations
This test is limited to detecting rearrangements involving the RET gene. It may not detect other genetic alterations or mutations in the sample. Negative results do not rule out the presence of RET rearrangements not covered by the test.
