Also known as: Immuno Histo Chemistry, Histopathology, SOX 10, epithelial-myoepithelial, myoepithelial
Use
SOX‑10 is a nuclear transcription factor involved in neural crest development, melanocytic and schwannian differentiation. It serves as a sensitive and relatively specific marker for melanoma (including desmoplastic melanoma) and schwannian tumors. It is also expressed in nevi and peripheral nerve sheath tumors (e.g., schwannoma, neurofibroma, MPNST) and normal tissues such as Schwann cells, melanocytes, and glandular myoepithelial cells.
