Ph-Like Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) Panel by FISH
Also known as: F PHLK ALL
Use
This test is recommended for individuals suspected of having Ph-like Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). It uses fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) methodology to detect specific genetic rearrangements associated with the disease. These rearrangements can help in diagnosing Ph-like ALL, which is characterized by a prognostic factor indicating a poor response to traditional therapies and identifies patients who may benefit from targeted therapies.
Special Instructions
A processing fee will be charged if the procedure is canceled at the client's request after setup or if the sample integrity is inadequate for culture growth. To order probes separately, refer to Chromosome FISH, Interphase. This test must be ordered using Oncology test request form #43099 or through ARUP interface. Ensure the clinical indication or reason for testing and specimen type accompany the test order. Contact the Cytogenetics Laboratory for specific instructions if using other specimen types.
Limitations
The test might provide compromised or delayed results if adequate clinical indication or specimen type information is not provided with the test order. Furthermore, paraffin-embedded specimens and clotted specimens are unacceptable, which could lead to sample rejection. The test was developed by ARUP Laboratories and is not cleared or approved by the FDA but is performed in a CLIA-certified lab for clinical purposes.
