Oncology FISH Analysis - ALL Ph-like FISH Panel
Use
Oncology FISH Analysis - ALL Ph-like FISH Panel is intended to identify chromosomal abnormalities commonly associated with Philadelphia chromosome acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph-like ALL), which play a critical role in both diagnosis and prognosis. It specifically detects anomalies such as PDGFRβ at 5q32, BCR/ABL t(9;22), JAK2 at 9p24.1, EPOR at 19p13.2, and CRLF2 at Xp22.33/Yp11.32. Accurate interpretation of results is contingent on correlating findings with clinical histories and other pathological data, making it essential to contextualize outcomes for effective clinical decision-making.
Special Instructions
This test is typically recommended for patients with a clinical or suspected diagnosis of Philadelphia chromosome (Ph-like) acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). It is also indicated for the prognostic identification of anomalies and to monitor treatment response, especially when previous cytogenetic testing was unsuccessful. The assay’s results are crucial when assessing therapeutic strategies and overall patient management.
Limitations
The assay is limited to assessing only specified chromosomal abnormalities at defined loci. Any abnormalities involving regions outside the tested loci will not be detected by this assay. Additionally, results should not be utilized independently to confirm a diagnosis of Philadelphia chromosome acute lymphoblastic leukemia, as they must be interpreted alongside clinical and pathological data.
